Privacy, advertising and analytics settings

Only with your permission, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to improve articles and the site using views by article and language, referral sources, countries and loading performance. The recipient is Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). It does not track people using cookies or fingerprints. Data includes the page host and path, referrer, browser, device, operating system, loading times, Core Web Vitals, a temporary ID for each page load, resource loading information and memory usage where the browser supports it. Cloudflare also receives your IP address during communication but states it does not store IP addresses in its analytics database. Country is derived from the IP address. We do not add search terms, URL queries or fragments to analytics.

Cloudflare makes the past six months available. Unsampled data is kept for seven days, then aggregated and sampled. Availability does not guarantee deletion of every copy; infrastructure communication data follows its policy. We delete our saved improvement aggregates within 13 months.

Analytics is off by default. All articles remain available without consent. Closing this screen or continuing to read is not consent. Only your choice, policy version and timestamps are saved in this browser’s localStorage for up to 180 days. Expired or changed versions are invalidated on your next visit. Stopping or deleting reloads the page to stop subsequent analytics. Data already sent or in flight cannot be recalled. This does not authorize advertising or AI intake.

Analytics and external transmission

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Advertising tags from Google AdSense load only if you allow them. The recipient is Google LLC (United States). Once loaded, identifiers such as cookies, the URL of the page you are viewing, your IP address, browser type and settings, and the date and time of the request are sent to Google to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud. If you do not allow it, refuse it, or the choice cannot be saved, no ad tag is loaded and no connection to the ad provider is made. Allowing analytics does not allow advertising. Withdrawing stops any further tag from loading; ads already shown and data already sent cannot be recalled, so the page is reloaded to remove them. You can also change ad personalization in Google Ad Settings.

Advertising has not started. Allowing it loads no ad tag today; your choice is saved and applies once delivery starts.

Operators and reviewers should enable exclusion in each browser. We do not infer identity from country or device. This setting stays until you remove it or clear browser data. Removing exclusion does not grant analytics consent.
